Damascus is renowned for its family heritage in handicrafts and professions. Like all other professional institutions, Moubayed Furniture was established by one man, then handed down from one generation to the next. It all began in the modest store of Mohammad Moubayed who began a career in carpentry and furniture manufacturing. By 1908, a small shop dedicated to the all types of Oriental furniture was underway in Damascus. In 1926, upon his passing, his son Arabi Moubayed took over at the age of nineteen, and remained in-charge until his own death in 1956. Arabi Moubayed established a professional name for the business, launching the first official furniture gallery in Damascus, and furnishing heads of state, presidents and kings with Moubayed Furniture for a 30 year period. Upon his death, his son Marwan Moubayed took over, expanding the profession to international standing and opening branches in Spain and Lebanon, while setting up office in Damascus specialized in modern-office furniture. In 1990, while caring for other enterprises (Moubayed Group), his daughter Leena Moubayed took over administration, and continues to manage the family establishment with efficiency and pride, until the present.

Today, our specialty is home furniture (modern and classical) and office furniture.

Our products are on display at our two main galleries in Damascus (Syria) and Bar Ellias (Lebanon).
